About the film
“Vincent” is a documentary feature film about Vincent Pinti, a 22-year-old a law student at the University of Michigan with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). He has been trying to level the playing field for people with disabilities since his early teens, but during his undergrad at UofM, he developed a groundbreaking caregiver program in the midst of a care crisis.
The now competitive care program is so successful it has enabled a new generation of students with disabilities to attend the University of Michigan. The profound impact of the program extends beyond opportunities for students withdisabilities, to the caregivers themselves: a group of 18 to 24-year-olds who have found purpose in devoting themselves to care and lifelong friendships along the way. Now, by studying law and public policy Vincent is embarking on a journey to transform long term care in the United States.
